Long-Lasting, Extremely Repeatable, LVDT Position Sensors Detect Slight Structural Shifts and Strain During Materials Testing

Because of their accuracy and repeatability after many years of use, LVDT position sensors are frequently used in testing and structural monitoring applications.  Capable of measuring displacements far below 0.001 inches with superior repeatablity, LVDTs allow monitoring of structures with a high degree of precision for predictive maintenance and safety concerns.  Hermetically sealed IP-68 LVDTs allow for measurements in outdoor or harsh environments as the sensor is impervious to rain or fluids as they come in contact with the sensor.  LVDTs come in a free core configuration like the NewTek HAR-750 series or in spring-loaded configurations like the GA-750 series.  Both are hermetically sealed and offer reliable, consistent position readouts.

In laboratories, LVDTs are implemented into material testing equipment to measure strain and deflection of test members.  Chosen for their repeatability, quick response, and rugged construction, free-core and spring loaded LVDTs give dependable displacement measurements used to determine key features of the material being tested.
